Sulkys are two-wheeled carts usually drawn by a horse, large dog, or goat. Generally, they are for one passenger and are best known in modern times for horse racing. It's a fascinating sport if you've never seen it, but his one's racing days are behind it. I found t resting in the snow beside a barn, most likely set out as a form of decoration. It may not seem like a retired racing cart belongs in Finding America, a gallery dedicated to images of places and objects that helped build a nation., but there was a time that they were a daily means of transportation. Kind of like the hot rod of horse-drawn carriages.
